Dal 17 al 20 settembre 2026 Raffadali celebra il Pistacchio DOP con la 10ª Fastuca Fest, a venti minuti da Agrigento: date, appuntamenti confermati e come arrivarci in auto o in bus.

If you are in Agrigento in mid-September, the question you will ask yourself is always the same: the temples by day, and in the evening? This year the answer is a quarter of an hour away by car. From 17 to 20 September 2026 Raffadali hosts the Fastuca Fest, now in its 10th edition: four days dedicated to the Raffadali PDO Pistachio, with the old town turned into a trail of tastings, live cooking and music. It is the most important food and wine event in the Agrigento area, and wandering around the town costs nothing.

When Fastuca Fest 2026 takes place

The event is traditionally held on the third weekend of September. Here are the confirmed dates for 2026:

Thursday 17 September – opening of the 10th edition

Friday 18 September – a full day, with the workshop on the geographical origin and sustainability of the PDO pistachio (6:00–7:30 pm)

Saturday 19 September – the busiest day, the one to choose if you want to find everything open

Sunday 20 September – closing day, starting at 9:00 am with the “Onde Rosa” charity walk

The venue is the old town of Raffadali, in the province of Agrigento. The times of the individual events are published on the official Fastuca Fest website in the days immediately before: if you are interested in something specific, it is worth a look the evening before.

What Fastuca Fest is (and why it is worth the trip)

Fastuca, in Sicilian, means pistachio. And Raffadali's is no ordinary pistachio: it is a PDO product, with a protected designation of origin, which owes its flavour to the soil and climate of this hilly belt 420 metres above sea level. Its fame spread well beyond the province long ago: it is even mentioned in the novels of Andrea Camilleri and Santo Piazzese.

The festival was created to make this product known and over the years it has become much more than a food fair. Its heart is the Percorso del Gusto (the taste trail): you walk through the streets of the old town stopping at the stalls, tasting sweet and savoury pistachio dishes — from pesto to chopped pistachio on pasta, from cannoli to ice cream, all the way to the local producers' goods. Around it there are show cooking, guided tastings paired with local wines, workshops, urban art installations and live music in the evening.

Events already confirmed

The detailed hour-by-hour programme comes out just before the event. These items, however, are already set:

Percorso del Gusto (the taste trail) in the old town, the thread running through all four days

Cooking contest, second edition

Show cooking with local chefs

Workshop “Geographical origin and sustainability” — Friday 18, 6:00–7:30 pm

“Onde Rosa” walk — Sunday 20, 9:00 am: a charity walk with a €10 entry fee that includes the official T-shirt and insurance cover

For the full calendar and any bookings, the authoritative sources are the event website and the dedicated page of the Municipality of Raffadali.

How to get to Raffadali from Agrigento

Raffadali lies north of Agrigento: the road winds around the hills and climbs to the town's 420 metres.

By car

From the centre of Agrigento it is about 16 km, covered in about twenty minutes of provincial road. As the crow flies the town is just over 11 km away, but the road climbs and winds, so allow for the full time. On festival evenings the old town is closed to traffic: you park in the outer streets and walk in, so it is worth arriving a little early. If you are in Agrigento and need to work out where to leave the car in town, you may find useful our guide to parking in Agrigento.

By bus

The scheduled Agrigento–Raffadali service is run by F.lli Camilleri & Argento and departs from the Piazzale Fratelli Rosselli bus terminal, in the centre of Agrigento; the journey takes roughly half an hour. An honest word of advice: intercity timetables change often and on Sundays services thin out, so check them the day before and above all check the last return service, because the festival comes alive in the evening.

What to do in Agrigento on the same days

September is perhaps the best month to visit Agrigento: the heat has softened, the temples can be walked even in the afternoon and the sea is still perfect. The most sensible way to fit in Fastuca Fest is to keep it for the evening and devote your days to the city:

the Valley of the Temples, ten minutes from the centre

a stroll through the old town and along Via Atenea, a stone's throw from the B&B

the Regional Archaeological Museum, if you get a bad-weather day

the Scala dei Turchi and the most beautiful beaches in the area, still enjoyable in September

If food is the thread of your trip, Fastuca Fest goes well with a tour of the typical agrigento dishes. And for everything else there is our guide to what to see in Agrigento.

Where to stay: a base in Agrigento is the better choice

Raffadali is a small town and during the festival its few places to stay sell out fast. The most convenient choice is to sleep in Agrigento and reach the festival in twenty minutes: by day you have the temples and the sea within reach, in the evening you pop over to Raffadali.

The B&B MiraValle Agrigento is at Via Empedocle 111, in the heart of the city: 250 metres from the old town and Via Atenea, and an 800-metre walk from the bus terminal at Piazzale Rosselli, where the service to Raffadali departs. A couple of details that really matter on days like these:

24-hour self check-in: if you come back from the festival in the middle of the night you do not have to tell anyone or respect a curfew

Private kitchen in the room in most of the rooms: you come back with the pistachio you bought at the stalls and enjoy it at your own pace, and in the morning you have breakfast whenever you like

Central location: you only need the car for the trip to Raffadali, everything else in Agrigento is on foot

You can look at the rooms and the updated rates, or write to us directly: booking without intermediaries always gets you the best rate. In September rooms go early, and on the Fastuca Fest weekend even more so.

Frequently asked questions

When is Fastuca Fest 2026?

From 17 to 20 September 2026, in Raffadali, in the province of Agrigento. It is the tenth edition.

Is there an entrance fee?

Walking around the town and the Percorso del Gusto is free: you pay for what you taste and buy at the stalls. Some activities have a separate fee — for example Sunday's “Onde Rosa” walk, €10 with the T-shirt included — and certain events may require booking.

How far is Raffadali from Agrigento?

About 16 km by road, about twenty minutes by car. By bus, from the Piazzale Rosselli terminal, it takes roughly half an hour.

Which is the best day to go?

Saturday 19 is the day with the most people and the most going on, but also the one with the longest queues at the stalls and the hardest parking. If you prefer a quieter wander, Thursday 17 or Friday 18 are quieter. Sunday morning is given over to the charity walk.

Can you go with children?

Yes: it is an open-air village festival, with workshops and entertainment. Bear in mind that the centre gets very crowded in the evening, so with a pushchair it is better to come in the early afternoon.

Dates and information verified on 6 September 2026 on the event's official website and on that of the Municipality of Raffadali. The programme may change: before setting off it is worth rechecking the times on the official channels.

You know the scene: a forced early start, breakfast served from 8:00 to 9:30, a shared room, a shared buffet. If you get up early for the Valley of the Temples at dawn you go hungry; if you're on holiday and want a lie-in, you skip it. At B&B MiraValle Agrigento things work differently: breakfast has no set times, because most of our rooms have a private kitchen for exclusive use. On this page we explain exactly what you'll find and why it changes your stay.

One of our private kitchens: not a token corner, but a real kitchen.

Breakfast, whenever you want

Here there's no breakfast time slot and no shared breakfast room. You have two options, and you choose each time:

You make it in your room, whenever you like. An espresso at 5:30 before heading off to the Valley of the Temples? Cappuccino and a pastry at 11:00 after a lie-in? Nobody says a word, because the kitchen is yours, for your exclusive use.

You ask us and we prepare it for you. Breakfast is available as an extra on request, from €5 per person per night: just let us know when you book, or even during your stay.

The upshot is that you can have breakfast on your own balcony, with the sea and the Valley of the Temples in front of you, in your bathrobe, at seven or at eleven. For many of our guests it's the best moment of the day.

The little table on the balcony: the finest breakfast room we could give you.

What's really in the in-room kitchen

When you read “kitchenette” you often find one hob ring and two cups. Here, in the rooms with a kitchen, the equipped area for exclusive use includes:

Kitchenette with a gas hob

Fridge with freezer

Espresso machine “Lavazza A Modo Mio”

Filter coffee machine

Milk frother

Kettle for tea and herbal teas

Microwave oven

Toaster

Crockery complete: plates, glasses, cutlery, pans

In other words: you can do your shopping and actually cook, not just heat something up. And Room C also has a private laundry with washing machine, which after a few days of travelling is worth more than you'd think.

What difference it really makes

It's not an abstract convenience: it changes the way you experience your holiday. Here are the cases we see most often.

Early risers (and late returns)

In summer the Valley of the Temples is best visited early, when the air is cool and the light is beautiful. With a fixed breakfast time you'd have to give that up. Here you make your coffee at 5:30 and off you go. Same on the way back: you get in at one in the morning from a concert, make yourself something and don't have to hunt for anywhere still open.

Families with children

Warm milk at 6:30, a meal outside mealtimes, a bottle to sterilise, a snack in the fridge: with a kitchen in the room you stop organising the day around the property's timetable. The triple rooms and the quadruple were designed exactly for this.

Allergies, intolerances and diets

Coeliac disease, lactose intolerance, a vegan diet, food for a small child: instead of hoping the buffet has something for you, you buy what you need and keep it in the fridge. It's the simplest and most reassuring solution.

Long stays and budget

Over a week, being able to eat in your room even just two or three evenings makes a real difference to the final bill — and in Agrigento there's a market and excellent delis a stone's throw away. And if you stay a while, the washing machine in Room C saves you hunting for a laundrette.

Room C's private laundry: an apartment detail, not a B&B one.

A classic B&B and B&B Miravalle compared

The classic model works perfectly well for many travellers, and we have nothing against it. But if what you're after is independence, the difference is this:

Classic B&B

B&B Miravalle

Breakfast

Fixed time, usually 8:00–9:30

Whenever you want, no set times

Where

Shared room with other guests

In your room or on your balcony

What

Whatever is on the buffet

Whatever you choose (or on request from €5)

Kitchen

Not available

Private, for exclusive use in 6 of the 8 rooms

Dinner in your room

Not possible

Yes, with hob and crockery

Laundry

Outside launderette

Private washing machine (Room C)

Check-in

Within reception hours

24-hour self check-in

In short: the freedom of an apartment, with the care and the location of a B&B in the centre of Agrigento.

Which rooms have a kitchen

Of our 8 rooms, 6 have a private kitchen for exclusive use and 2 have an area equipped for breakfast and coffee. All have a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV and free Wi-Fi.

Room 1 — double with sea and Valley of the Temples view, with kitchen

Room 2 — double with sea-view balcony, with kitchen

Room 3 — triple with balcony and fully equipped private kitchen

Room 4 — double with old-town view, with area equipped for breakfast and coffee

Room A — triple with sea-view balcony, with kitchen

Room B — double with sea-view balcony and equipped area

Room C — double with full kitchen and washing machine

Room D — quadruple with private entrance, balcony and kitchen

Frequently asked questions

Is breakfast included in the price?

It's an extra on request, from €5 per person per night. Many guests prefer to make it themselves in the room, at their own times and to their own taste: that's why we've kept it optional instead of loading it onto every rate. You'll find all the details on the rates.

Can I really cook, not just heat things up?

Yes. The rooms with a kitchen have a gas hob with pans and crockery: you can cook a plate of pasta without any trouble. We only ask for the common sense to air the room and leave everything clean, as you would at home.

Is there anywhere nearby to do the shopping?

Yes, we're right in the centre a stone's throw from Via Atenea: between shops, bakeries and delis you'll find everything within a few minutes' walk. When you arrive we'll gladly point out our favourites.

If I arrive late at night, will anyone be there?

No need: the self check-in is available 24 hours a day. We send you the instructions before you arrive and you let yourself in whenever you like — especially handy if you arrive on the last bus, as we explain in our guide on how to get to Agrigento.

In two words

If you're looking for a place where nobody tells you what time to have breakfast, where you can cook, do your washing and come in at midnight without disturbing anyone — but with the old town and the Valley of the Temples a stone's throw away — then yes: B&B Miravalle is different from the B&B you're expecting.

Agrigento does not have an airport: you arrive from Palermo (about 2 hours) or from Catania (about 2 hours 40), by bus, train or car. The good news is that connections are frequent, cheap and drop you a few minutes' walk from the centre — and from our B&B. In this guide you'll find timetables, companies, indicative prices and the official links to book.

Agrigento is reached from Sicily's two major hubs: Palermo and Catania.

In short: all the options compared

Departure

Transport

Duration

Indicative price

Palermo city

Bus

~2 h

9–10 €

Palermo city

Train

~2 h

~9–11 €

Palermo city

Car (130 km)

~1 h 45–2 h

fuel

Palermo Airport (PMO)

Direct bus

~2 h 15

~12–13 €

Catania city

Bus

~2 h 40

~13–15 €

Catania Airport (CTA)

Direct bus

~2 h 40

~13–15 €

Catania city

Car (165 km)

~2 h–2 h 30

fuel

Indicative times and prices verified in July 2026: always check the updated timetables on the official websites linked below.

From Palermo to Agrigento

By bus: the simplest option

It's the option we recommend to most of our guests: frequent departures, about 2 hours' journey and arrival right in the centre of Agrigento, at Piazzale Fratelli Rosselli. Two companies cover the route.

Autoservizi Cuffaro — departures from the Piazzetta Cairoli terminal, next to Palermo central station. On weekdays departures start at 5:45 and continue throughout the morning and early afternoon (8:15, 9:15, 10:30, 12:00, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00). On Saturdays the service is reduced; on Sundays and public holidays there are about 5 departures (8:15, 12:00, 15:30, 17:00, 19:30). Tickets can be bought on board too; the return ticket is valid for one month.

Autolinee SAL (Camilleri, Argento & Lattuca) — the area's other long-established company, with services to Palermo city and, above all, the direct link with the airport which we'll cover in a moment.

By train

The Palermo Centrale – Agrigento Centrale line is served by Trenitalia Regional trains: about 11 direct services a day, just over 2 hours of travel and tickets from about €9–11. The first departure is around 6:43, the last one around 20:42.

The train is comfortable and scenic, but bear one thing in mind: in 2026 the line is undergoing scheduled works which on some days mean timetable changes or replacement buses. Before setting off, take a quick look at the Trenitalia website.

Agrigento Centrale station, in Piazza Marconi: it is 400 metres from our B&B.

By car

It's about 130 km: you take the SS121 and then the SS189, with a travel time of between 1 hour 45 and 2 hours. The route is fast-flowing all the way and crosses the Sicilian hinterland between hills and villages: a beautiful drive, but without service stations every few kilometres, so fill up before you leave.

From Palermo airport (PMO) with no changes

If you land atFalcone-Borsellino airport at Punta Raisi you don't need to go into the city: the Autolinee SAL connect the airport directly with Agrigento, with departures spread through the day (roughly from 6:00 until early afternoon) and about 2 hours and a quarter of travel. The bus leaves from the arrivals exit; tickets are bought at the desk or on board.

From Catania to Agrigento

By bus, straight from the airport too

From Catania the bus is clearly the best choice. The company SAIS Trasporti connects Agrigento both with the city and — very handily — withCatania Fontanarossa airport, with no changes.

Duration: about 2 hours 40 (the fastest services just over 2 hours 20).

Frequency: services spread throughout the day; from the airport the first leaves around 8:30 in the morning and the last around 22:00, arriving in Agrigento in the middle of the night.

Tickets: online at booking.saisautolinee.it or at the airport ticket office, open every day from 6:15 to 00:15.

Buses from Catania also arrive at Piazzale Fratelli Rosselli, Agrigento's bus terminal.

Piazzale Fratelli Rosselli: all buses from Palermo and Catania arrive here.

By train: better to avoid it

From Catania there are no direct trains to Agrigento: you need one or two changes (usually at Caltanissetta) and the journey goes well beyond three and a half hours. For the same price, the bus is faster and far more comfortable.

By car

About 165 km in 2 hours–2 hours 30: you take theA19 motorway Catania–Palermo, exit at Caltanissetta towards Agrigento and continue on the SS640, the so-called Strada degli Scrittori, now almost entirely dual carriageway. It's the smoothest route to reach us from eastern Sicily.

Which airport should you choose?

Palermo (PMO) — the closest: about 130 km, with a direct bus to Agrigento. If you find a flight to Palermo at a similar price, choose this one.

Catania (CTA) — about 165 km, but it's the island's largest hub: more flights, more airlines and often better fares. The direct SAIS bus makes up for the distance.

Comiso (CIY) — just over 150 km, but direct public transport links are scarce: it only makes sense if you rent a car.

In short: look at the flight price first, because from both airports you reach Agrigento with a single bus.

You've arrived in Agrigento: what now?

And here comes the convenient part. Agrigento's centre is small and everything is within walking distance: from both arrival points you reach the B&B Miravalle in a few minutes, without a taxi and without any hassle.

From the train station (Piazza Marconi): 400 metres, about a 5-minute walk.

From bus terminal (Piazzale Rosselli): 800 metres, about a 10-minute walk.

By car: we're right in the centre, a stone's throw from Via Atenea; for parking we've put together a dedicated guide on where to park in Agrigento.

Arriving late in the evening? No problem.

The last bus from Catania reaches Agrigento in the middle of the night: that's why at B&B Miravalle you'll find self check-in available 24 hours a day.
Frequently asked questions

Which is the nearest airport to Agrigento?

The one at Palermo Falcone-Borsellino (PMO), about 130 km away, linked to Agrigento by a direct bus in just over 2 hours. Catania Fontanarossa (CTA) is 165 km away but offers many more flights, also with a direct bus.

Can you visit Agrigento without a car?

Yes, easily. The old town is walkable and for the Valley of the Temples there's the city bus service that leaves right from the station square. Many of our guests arrive by bus or train and don't miss having a car at all.

Bus or train from Palermo?

They're equivalent in duration (about 2 hours) and price. The bus has more departures and is more punctual; the train is more convenient if you're staying near Palermo central station. In 2026, with works under way on the railway line, the bus remains the safer choice.

How long do you need to visit Agrigento?

For the Valley of the Temples and the old town you'll need two days. If you want to add the sea at San Leone, the Scala dei Turchi and the surrounding area, better three or four: you'll find plenty of ideas in our guide on what to see in Agrigento.

We look forward to seeing you

However you choose to arrive, the B&B Miravalle is a few minutes' walk from your arrival point, with rooms with a balcony overlooking the sea and the Valley of the Temples, breakfast on request and 24-hour self check-in. If you have any doubts about your arrival time or the best way to travel, write to us: we're happy to reply, even just for advice.

Guide to the 8 typical Agrigento dishes to try: pasta con le sarde, couscous, almond sweets and more. History, flavours and where to enjoy them in Agrigento.

Agrigento's cuisine is a story of sea, countryside and conquests: Greeks, Arabs and peasant tradition have left unique flavours on the table. After reading what to eat in Agrigento, here are the 8 most famous typical Agrigento dishes to try at least once: ingredients, history and when to enjoy them.

1. Pasta con le sarde

The quintessential Sicilian first course: bucatini with fresh sardines, wild fennel, pine nuts, raisins, saffron and toasted breadcrumbs. A sweet-and-sour balance of Arab-Sicilian origin, perfect in spring.

2. Fish couscous

Arab heritage of the Agrigento coast: steamed couscous served with a fragrant mixed-fish broth. Enjoy it along the coast, from San Leone onwards.

3. Caponata

Sicily's most iconic appetiser: fried aubergines in a sweet-and-sour sauce with celery, capers, green olives, tomato and a touch of vinegar. Served at room temperature, great with bread.

4. Sarde a beccafico

Sardines opened and stuffed with breadcrumbs, pine nuts and raisins, rolled and baked with bay leaves. The name recalls the beccafico, the fig-loving little bird: a seafood classic.

5. Arancine

Sicily's most famous street food: breaded, deep-fried rice balls filled with ragu and peas. Crisp outside, soft inside: perfect to eat as you stroll the old town.

6. Cannoli

The world's most famous Sicilian dessert: a crisp fried pastry shell filled to order with very fresh ricotta cream, chocolate chips and candied fruit. Not to be missed.

7. Cassata siciliana

The icon of Sicilian pastry: sponge cake, sweet ricotta, green marzipan, icing and candied fruit. A triumph of festive colours and flavours.

8. Almond sweets

Agrigento is a land of almonds, celebrated by the Almond Blossom Festival: soft almond pastries, mostaccioli and fragrant biscuits. The most Agrigento-style sweet ending there is.

Where to enjoy typical Agrigento dishes

Free parking (white lines), paid parking (blue lines) and covered private 24/7 parking in Agrigento: the complete guide with a map and discounted tickets for our guests.

Guide updated in October 2026.

One of the most frequent questions from those arriving by car is: where to park in Agrigento? The historic centre is partly a limited-traffic zone, but around the B&B MiraValle Agrigento you'll find several convenient options: free public parking, paid parking and a private covered parking just a few steps away. In this guide we explain all the options, with our recommendations.

Further down you will also find where to leave the car for the most popular trips: the Valley of the Temples, San Leone beach and the Scala dei Turchi.

Where to park in Agrigento for free: the white lines

Near the B&B there are several free public parking, marked by white lines. They are the cheapest option: the only thing to bear in mind is to arrive a little early during high season, when the central area is busier.

Paid parking (blue lines)

Alternatively you'll find timed paid public parking, recognisable by blue lines. They are handy for short stops and are found along the main streets near the property.

Covered private 24/7 parking (with discounted tickets for our guests)

If you prefer maximum comfort and security, we can provide our guests with discounted tickets for the Atenea 24/7 Multi-storey Car Park, a private covered parking just 350 metres from the B&B, open 24 hours a day. It is the ideal choice if you are travelling with luggage, staying several days or want to leave your car under cover. You can find the exact location on Google Maps.

Our parking map

To help you find your way we have prepared a map of Agrigento's car parks around B&B Miravalle: in green the free public car parks, in blue the paid public ones and in orange the Atenea multi-storey covered private car park.

Getting to Agrigento and getting around without a car

B&B Miravalle is just 400 metres from the railway station and 800 metres from the bus station: once you have parked the car you can reach on foot the Historic centre and Via Atenea, while for the Valley of the Temples and the Scala dei Turchi we recommend the car or public transport. Discover all the distances in our guide on what to see in Agrigento.

Are you looking for a B&B in Agrigento convenient and well-connected place? The B&B MiraValle Agrigento is located in the city centre, with rooms with sea and Valley of the Temples view and 24/7 self check-in. Message us for discounted tickets to the covered car park.

Limited-traffic zone and historic centre: what to know before parking in Agrigento

The Historic centre of Agrigento, in particular the area of Via Atenea, is partly subject to a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) and pedestrian streets. For this reason, when you arrive, it is best to park in Agrigento in the areas just outside the pedestrian core and reach the B&B Miravalle on foot in a few minutes. When you book we will tell you the most convenient spot to leave your car based on your arrival time.

Where to park at the Valley of the Temples

The Valley of the Temples has two official paid car parks, each next to a ticket office. From B&B Miravalle it is about a 7-minute drive.

Temple of Juno car park (east entrance)

It is on Via Panoramica dei Templi and is for cars only. It is the most convenient entrance: you start at the Temple of Juno and visit the Valley downhill, passing the Temple of Concordia. It is also the best starting point for a sunset visit.

Porta V car park (west entrance)

It is in the Sant'Anna area, on Via Caduti di Marzabotto. It is larger and is the only one that also takes campervans. It is the better choice if you are coming from Porto Empedocle or the Scala dei Turchi.

Both charge by the hour, with a daily maximum of a few euros: check the rate on the sign at the entrance. Avoid leaving the car along the road, as the area is patrolled and fines are common.

Read our guide to the Valley of the Temples

Where to park in San Leone (beach and seafront)

San Leone is Agrigento's seaside resort, about a 15-minute drive from the B&B. Along the Falcone e Borsellino seafront and in the side streets you will find white-line and blue-line parking, much of which is paid in summer.

On summer evenings the Viale Emporium area gets very busy: arrive early or park in the streets further inland and walk the rest. Out of season it is easy to find a space.

Discover San Leone and its beaches

Where to park at the Scala dei Turchi (Realmonte)

The Scala dei Turchi is in Realmonte, about a 25-minute drive from the B&B. Along provincial road 68 there are private car parks with a daily rate, often with showers and facilities: from there it is a few minutes' walk down to the beach. Do not leave the car on the side of the provincial road, as checks are frequent in summer.

Since the 2026 season, access to the white cliff has been limited in number: the ticket costs 6 euros, can only be bought on site by card and cannot be booked online. In summer it is best to arrive early in the morning.

Read our guide to the Scala dei Turchi

Practical tips for those arriving by car

Here are some practical tips for stress-free parking: in high season (spring and summer) arrive a little early, because the free areas fill up quickly; if you are staying several days or travelling with luggage, choose the Atenea multi-storey covered private car park 24/7 with our discounted tickets; if instead you are only stopping for check-in, the blue lines near the B&B are the quickest option. Once your car is parked, you can move around comfortably on foot between Via Atenea and the historic centre and easily reach the city's main points of interest.

For any questions about where to park in Agrigento or to request discounted tickets for the covered car park, message us before your arrival: we'll help you organise your stay as conveniently as possible.

Information on parking lines and rates may vary: always check the signs on site.

The summer events Agrigento make the city lively and surprising from June to September. Summer in Agrigento is not only sea and archaeology: it is also a season full of concerts, shows and major events. The programme of the Teatro Valley of the Temples brings major names of Italian music to Agrigento: among the most awaited events, the concert by Claudio Baglioni scheduled for 26 July 2026 as part of his Grand Tour.

Music under the stars

Attending a concert a stone's throw from the temples, on Sicilian summer evenings, is an experience that combines music and wonder. Alongside the big names, the summer calendar offers festivals, performances at the Pirandello Theatre and cultural evenings spread across the historic centre and the Valley.

Plan your stay

For the dates of the major events Agrigento fills up quickly: we recommend that you book in advance.
The summer events Agrigento transform the city into an open-air stage.
Among the summer events Agrigento most awaited of 2026 is the concert by Claudio Baglioni on 26 July. But summer in Agrigento is also full of food festivals, exhibitions and widespread festivals: there is always something to do, both day and evening.

Where to stay to experience the summer events in Agrigento

From 8 July to 21 September the Valley of the Temples can also be visited at sunset and at night: opening hours, tips and where to stay in Agrigento.

the Valley of the Temples at night is one of the most magical experiences Agrigento can offer. There is a moment when the The Valley of the Temples of Agrigento becomes pure magic: sunset. This summer too the Archaeological Park extends its opening with the evening visits: from 20 June to 20 September 2026 you can stroll among the Doric temples as the sun sets over the sea and the sandstone glows red and gold, until you see them lit up at night.

The Valley of the Temples of Agrigento: at sunset the temple stone glows red and gold

Why visit the temples at sunset

By day the Valley is splendid but hot and crowded; in the evening the experience changes completely. The temperatures are pleasant, the light is perfect for photographs and the illuminated Temple of Concordia is one of the most evocative sights in Sicily. It is the experience we always recommend to our guests, especially in high summer.

Useful information

Visiting hours vary depending on the day of the week: weekdays 8:30–23:00 (last admission at 22:00), pre-holidays and holidays 8:30–24:00 (last admission at 23:00). Evening openings have a limited number of places: it is best to buy your tickets in advance through the Park's official channels. From our B&B the Valley is about a 10-minute drive away, or reachable by bus from the centre. Find out more in our guide to the Valley of the Temples.

Visiting the Valley of the Temples at night: the experience

Walking in the Valley of the Temples at night is an emotion hard to describe: the illuminated paths, the Temple of Concordia glowing in the dark, the scent of the Mediterranean scrub and the silence broken only by the crickets. It is a completely different way to experience one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, away from the heat and the crowds of the central hours.

the Valley of the Temples at night is perfect also for families with children and for photography lovers: the illuminated Doric temples make for spectacular shots. We recommend comfortable shoes, a light sweatshirt (in the evening the sea breeze is cool) and a small bottle of water.

Where to stay to visit the Valley of the Temples at night

After the evening visit you can return comfortably to our rooms with sea and Valley of the Temples view.
